Biography
MARK SOLOMON SILVER, a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker. With a rich educational background, Mark holds a Combined Specialist Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. He has further solidified his expertise with a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, a post-graduate Certificate Program in Family Therapy from Smith College, and a Doctor of Psychology from the Southern California University for Professional Studies. Notably, Mark is also a Juris Doctor degree holder from the City University of New York, Queens College, and is duly admitted to practice law in New York.
Mark's scholarly endeavors have resulted in the publication of over a dozen papers centered around forensic social work and mental health practices within the realms of criminal and immigration consultations. These insightful contributions have found their place in diverse academic and practice journals. An erudite speaker, Mark has delivered lectures on various dimensions of these topics. Notably, he stands as the esteemed author of the critically acclaimed book, "Handbook of Mitigation in Criminal and Immigration Forensics: Humanizing the Client Towards a Better Legal Outcome," now in its Third Edition (2011).
Over the past decade, Mark has seamlessly transitioned into a pivotal role as a consultant for law firms spanning the United States. His expertise shines as he conducts psychosocial evaluations and meticulously crafts formal reports for forensic and mitigation cases within immigration and criminal domains. Mark's portfolio boasts an impressive tally of over 1200 such cases to date. He has adeptly collaborated with clients from approximately forty nations across the globe, addressing a myriad of individual, family, and mental health concerns intertwined with criminal conduct and deportation. His contributions extend further as he has served as an expert witness in numerous instances, offering his insights and perspectives in support of legal proceedings.
