Simplifying Regulations for 2026

The Missouri Bar requires attorneys to complete 15 credits by June 30 of every year. Of the 15 credit hours, at least three credit hours must be devoted exclusively to professionalism, substance abuse, mental health, legal or judicial ethics, or malpractice prevention, and at least one of these three credit hours must be devoted exclusively to explicit or implicit bias, diversity, inclusion or cultural competency. All credits must be reported by July 31. Attorneys are limited to 6 credits of self-study per reporting period. The ethics and elimination of bias credits may not be earned through self-study. A maximum of 15 credits, including 2 ethics credits, may be carried over to the next reporting period.
