Simplifying Regulations for 2026

 The Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on CLE and Specialization requires attorneys to complete 14 credits, including 2 legal ethics and professional responsibilities (LEPR) credits, by the last day of February every year. All credits must be reported by March 1. At least 1 substance abuse/mental health credit must be completed every three years. As of May 1, 2019, Substance Abuse/Mental Health credit shall be a part of the general CLE requirement and cannot be applied to satisfy the legal ethics and professional responsibilities (LEPR) requirement. Attorneys are limited to 8 credits of alternatively delivered programs per compliance period. A maximum of 14 credits may be carried over to the next compliance period. Credits from alternatively delivered programs may not be carried forward.
