Shana is Vice President of the American Academy of Brain Injury Attorneys and has served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. Shana is a member of the Advisory Board for the Acquired Brain Injury Program at The George Washington University, Graduate School of Education and Human Development, Washington, D.C. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and has served on the Board of Advisors of the Interstate Bus Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. Shana is an elected Fellow of the Melvin Belli Society and has been recognized as a New York Super Lawyer. She is a member of the Judicial Screening and Pattern Jury Instruction Committees of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and serves as Amicus Counsel and Editor of its monthly legal update. Shana is amicus counsel to the Brain Injury Association of America and authored the amicus brief disputing the settlement reached in the National Football League (NFL) class action concussion litigation. The brief argued that the proposed settlement was not in the best interest of all injured players. Shana has presented on medical malpractice issues at Ground Rounds, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine.
