The Honorable Sylvia Hinds-Radix (Ret.) joined JAMS in 2024 after a distinguished career as New York City’s 81st corporation counsel and as a jurist in New York state courts, most recently serving from 2012 to 2022 as an associate justice of the Appellate Division, Supreme Court of the State of New York, Second Judicial Department. Judge Hinds-Radix, the first Caribbean-born person and woman of color, and the second woman overall to serve as corporation counsel, oversaw the wide-ranging operations of the New York City Law Department. As the city’s chief legal officer, she led the department primarily responsible for providing legal representation to the city, its mayor and other elected officials, and its myriad agencies in civil litigation matters. She also oversaw the operations of the Family Court Division, the city’s prosecutorial arm in family law matters. As corporation counsel, she created new divisions for Ethics & Compliance and Risk Management, promoted residents' health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, and secured housing for thousands during the migrant crisis. She negotiated a landmark agreement with the Legal Aid Society in Callahan v. Carey, providing New York City with the flexibility to address migrants’ needs during this emergency. Under her guidance, the department promoted economic development and recovered tens of millions of dollars in affirmative lawsuits. Judge Hinds-Radix presided over and resolved numerous cases through pretrial rulings, bench and jury trials, judgments, and settlement conferences. She served as an associate justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, and in 2020, was designated a member of the New York State Constitutional Bench. She also served as the administrative judge for civil matters in the Second Judicial District, was elected and re-elected to the New York State Supreme Court, and served as a judge in New York City’s civil and criminal courts. As a seasoned jurist, she handled matters spanning various practice areas across many industries, including appellate, bankruptcy, complex business and commercial, employment and labor, family law, governmental/public agency, personal injury, professional liability, and real estate (including foreclosure and landlord-tenant). Judge Hinds-Radix began her legal career with District Council 37, one of the city’s largest public employee unions. Her roles within the union included chief counsel for the Immigration Program, which she founded; supervising attorney for the Landlord and Tenant Division; and senior attorney in the Consumer Litigation and Bankruptcy unit.

He has been qualified as an expert witness in digital forensics, the authentication of digital evidence, and cryptocurrency forensics in state and federal courts. The Supreme Court of New York State has appointed him as a neutral digital forensic examiner and neutral cryptocurrency forensic expert on numerous occasions. He is a licensed attorney and private investigator, and the former co-chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Cyber Law Committee. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude and his Juris Doctor magna cum laude, finishing in the top 2% of his class, at St. John's University.

Sherry Levin Wallach is the CEO and founder of JustaNovus LLC, which provides AI integration, strategic planning, governance, and training for lawyers, law firms, and legal organizations. She is special counsel to the Legal Aid Society of Westchester County and served as Deputy Executive Director of LASW from 2019 to 2025. She served as President of the New York State Bar Association 2022-2023 and is a member of the NY Chief Administrative Judge's Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence for the NY Courts. She began her career in the Bronx County District Attorney's Office, practiced medical malpractice defense, and was a principal at Wallach & Rendo, LLP. She earned her Juris Doctor from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and her BBA from George Washington University.

Chief of the Bureau of Prosecutorial Innovation (Pi) at the Kings County District Attorney's Office
Sara Kurtzberg is Chief of the Bureau of Prosecutorial Innovation (Pi) at the Kings County District Attorney's Office, where she leads the integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital evidence, into prosecutorial practice. She joined the Office in 2007 and has served as an Assistant District Attorney, Senior Assistant District Attorney, and Deputy Bureau Chief of Trial Bureau Green. She has tried more than 35 felony cases as lead counsel, including at least seven homicides. In 2022, she became the founding Chief of the Bureau of Litigation Technology (BOLT). She is a nationally recognized trainer on artificial intelligence, digital evidence, and courtroom technology, and co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence committee of the District Attorney's Association for the State of New York (DAASNY). She is a graduate of Binghamton University and Albany Law School.

Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court
Abena Darkeh is an Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. She presides over one of two Domestic Violence Parts in the Criminal Term in Kings County. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, then served as New York City Criminal Court's Domestic Violence Coordinator and as Assistant Deputy Counsel to the Office of Policy and Planning for the New York State Courts, where she helped design specialized problem-solving courts. She later served as Deputy Commissioner for Regional Affairs at the New York State Division of Human Rights and was appointed judge of the New York City Criminal Court before her current position. She received the Kings County District Attorney's Office's Community Service Award for her leadership in the field of domestic violence. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law.

NYS SUPREME COURT – CRIMINAL TERM, QUEENS COUNTY
Justice Karen Gopee made history twice by her election to the New York State Supreme Court in 2021 and her appointment to the New York State Criminal Court in 2015, as the first Indo-Caribbean jurist in New York State. Currently, she presides over hearings and trials in a busy Gun Part in Queens. Prior to her election, she served as the presiding Criminal Court judge over the Youth Part, Domestic Violence Part, and Specialty Felony Waiver Part.
