Jonathan New is a seasoned trial lawyer and white-collar criminal defense attorney who represents clients in high-stakes civil, regulatory, and criminal investigations and litigation, with a particular focus on cross-border government investigations. He is regularly engaged by corporations, directors, and officers to advise and defend in matters involving complex financial instruments, accounting and securities law issues, insider trading, anti-money laundering (AML) and FCPA compliance, asset forfeiture, and cybercrime. Before entering private practice, Jonathan served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division. He leverages his decades of experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and litigator to strategically present his clients’ positions in a light that most resonates with regulators, judges, and jurors.
