Expropriation and Fair and Equitable Treatment

In this course, I will give a brief introduction to the main issues and problems of international investment law. In particular, I will focus on two main issues: Expropriation and the fair and equitable treatment. You will discover why some governments are obliged to pay huge amounts of money to different investors because of exploration and because of the fair and equitable treatment.

I’m a licensed attorney in Ontario, New York, and Colombia and I have recently completed my LLM in international trade and investment law at uOttawa. I have an interest in the following areas of the law: Corporate, securities, tax compliance, and international investment. Thus far, I have practiced Corporate, immigration, and family law in several law firms across North America. When I’m not on the job, I love reading about investments, trading, and the stock market. I also love swimming and soccer. Kind Regards Julian
