Uncover the systemic and individual barriers to gender equity in legal workplaces and develop strategies for creating lasting change.

The legal profession continues to be dominated by men, presenting significant barriers to women's advancement and equitable opportunities. This persistent gender gap is a significant challenge for achieving a truly diverse and inclusive legal field. Women are frequently overlooked for leadership roles, and systemic gender bias contributes to this lack of representation. Addressing this issue requires a multifaceted approach involving both systemic change and individual action.
This course, "Gender Bias in Legal Workplaces: Overcoming Barriers," will explore the complexities of gender bias in the legal profession and equip you with the knowledge and tools to combat it. You will learn about the historical context of bias, understand the different types of bias, and identify strategies for interrupting bias in your own interactions and within your organization.
You will also learn about the American Bar Association's efforts to eliminate bias and enhance diversity in the legal profession, as well as practical strategies for creating inclusive workplaces. This course will also provide you with the knowledge and skills to become an ally for women lawyers and other underrepresented groups within the legal profession.
