Bill Coyne is the founding member of Boston Legacy Planning LLC. He has been in the private practice of law for over 30 years. Initially, he engaged in a general law practice with an emphasis on litigation, especially business litigation. In 1997, Bill took the requisite training and became a qualified mediator under G.L. c. 233 § 23C. Two years later, he published articles in two national law journals on a particular technique for achieving early resolution of disputes. Since 1999, the focus of Bill’s practice has been estate planning, legacy planning, business transition planning, and asset protection planning, as well as the avoidance and resolution of disputes involving trusts, estates, business owners and fiduciaries. Bill has received a Peer Review rating of AV Preeminent from Martindale Hubbell. Bill developed and uses the LIFT™ Model for business exit planning to help business owners develop, implement and maintain a successful plan for their business. He works with owners to create a Business Wealth Realization Report™ that integrates the future value and cash flow of the business into their overall estate plan. Bill regularly teaches on estate planning, business transition planning, and related topics. Bill grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the oldest of 10 children. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1970, and from Boston College Law School in 1980. He is married, with two adult children.
