Protecting the Rights and Well-being of Elderly Clients: Legal Considerations in Elder Law and Long-Term Care

This course provides attorneys with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in handling legal matters related to elder law and long-term care. Attorneys will learn about essential legal documents, medical decision-making, long-term care options, asset protection, and the basics of Medicaid and Medicare, including Medicare Advantage plans and estate planning challenges.
The course also addresses key areas such as Medicaid eligibility, asset limitations, denials, appeals processes, and considerations in inheritance cases. Participants will gain an understanding of how to protect assets, maintain ethical standards, identify elder care abuse, and fulfill legal responsibilities in cases involving nursing home abuse.
Through case studies and real-world scenarios, attorneys will develop the expertise needed to effectively assist elderly clients in navigating these complex legal issues.
